PAX TV's
'Treasures In Your Home' Premieres New Format From New York Studio
on January 17, 7:30 PM ET/PT PAX TV Renews Hit Program
for 100 More Episodes
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- PAX TV, the
national family entertainment network, announced that it has renewed
"Treasures In Your Home," the popular nationally-televised
collectibles program, for another 100 episodes. Beginning Monday,
January 17th, "Treasures" will reflect a new half-hour format airing
weeknights on PAX at 7:30 PM ET/PT, 6:30 PM Central & Mountain.
CollectingChannel.com Productions also announced that production of
the show has moved to the Kaufman Astoria Lifetime studios in New
York.
"Treasures In Your Home," which has garnered critical acclaim
from America's television and antiques/collectibles critics, made
its debut on PAX last August as a live, hour-long program broadcast
from studios in Virginia Beach, Virginia and broadband simulcast on
CollectingChannel.com and Yahoo
Broadcast Services on the Worldwide Web.
"In its first season on the air for 'Treasures In Your Home', the
combination of terrific hosts, auction interactivity for viewers via
the Web and an impressive array of merchandise ranging from antique
to pop, established a very enthusiastic core audience for this
show," said President of PAX Programming, Bill Scott. "Additionally,
the recent swell of national interest in collectibles and the growth
in popularity of on-line auctioning combines well with PAX TV's
commitment to producing quality family programming that all viewers
can enjoy."
The show's faster-paced format will highlight different locales
and collecting venues, and will feature "on-the-road" programs and
segments designed to cover major markets throughout the United
States. Boston and Chicago will be the debut sites for the first of
these on-the-road segments. Field reports from Los Angeles will also
be a regular feature of the program.
"The new format brings more glitz and glamour in the style of
Entertainment Tonight," said producer Steve Sanford, "Treasures"
Co-producer and Co-founder and Chairman of CollectingChannel.com
Productions. "We believe viewers will enjoy the show's livelier and
faster pace as we have added more 'road' pieces, a broader range of
collectible items and an increasing focus on value. Additionally,
CollectingChannel.com will provide Treasures In Your
Home.com users with interactive contests,
collecting trivia, and in-depth articles. We will maintain a live
element to the program as we move into the crowd on location, and we
are especially excited about the opportunity to incorporate regular
field reports from Los Angeles. Who knows? We may knock on your
door!"
"Treasures" host John Burke will continue to anchor the show,
with co-host Laurie Hibbard. The addition of other talent from Los
Angeles and the touring segments is still to be announced.
Broad Range of Collectibles
"Treasures In Your Home" has been heralded as an innovative
convergence of media, blending interactive elements from the
worldwide web and television into a seamless entertainment
experience. Linked both to PAX TV and to CollectingChannel.com, the
series website features detailed information that extends beyond the
television series, allowing viewers to get additional information on
any topic covered by the TV program.
Co-producers PAX TV and CollectionChannel.com Productions will
continue to showcase the broadest possible range of collectibles --
everything from priceless antiques to quirky collections of pop
culture items. Auctions and expert appraisals by the
CollectingChannel.com's Dave Maloney, author of the bible of the
collecting world -- Maloney's Antiques and Collectibles Resource
Directory -- will continue to be major features of Treasures.
