broad consumer acceptance,” said Mark Stuart, CEO ChannelSpace

The Association of Online Appraisers was formed in an effort to
establish standards for those involved with offering online personal
property appraisals. The non-profit association has a two-fold
mission: to promote professionalism and ethical conduct among online
appraiser, and to provide the public with a benchmark by which they
can gauge the quality of the online appraiser’s work product. The
AOA also acts as an industry watchdog, alerting members to emerging
issues concerning online appraisal practices, promoting interchange
between the public and members, and establishing a codified set of
standards to be used in all online appraisals. Membership in the AOA
is open to any individual or group offering online appraisals
including appraisal practitioners, appraisal management companies,
educators and related organizations.
