David Maloney joins Channelspace Entertainment, Inc., as Chief Appraisal Officer
CSEI Innovates by Naming Collecting's First CAO

Norfolk, VA –(November 3, 1999) David Maloney, a giant in the field of collectibles valuation, has joined ChannelSpace Entertainment, Inc. (CSEI) as Chief Appraisal Officer (CAO). In this newly created position, Maloney will direct all appraisal activities of collectingchannel.com, the leading affinity portal for the collecting community on the Internet.

"This is the first CAO in the entire collectibles field," explains Barry Friedman, co-founder and CEO of CSEI. "We've created this position, and hired the eminent Dave Maloney to fill it, to demonstrate that our commitment to the collectibles community is total and long-range."

Maloney will be highly visible online. He will represent collectingchannel.com at shows and industry events and help educate collectibles consumers with lectures, seminars and appraisal courses. Maloney's Online, a unique database of people, organizations and institutions in the collecting field, also becomes part of collectingchannel.com as a result of this historic appointment.

As chief appraisal officer, Maloney will be featured prominently on the company's Treasures In Your Home: The World of Collecting TV series, seen weeknights on the PAX Network, 7-8 PM EDT. He also assumes responsibility for the popular show's appraisal activities, including the selection of all other appraisers used on Treasures In Your Home: The World of Collecting.

As a result of the agreement, CSEI becomes the copyright holder of Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory. In addition to continuing the longstanding, successful print run of the Maloney’s Directory, CSEI will also present the incredibly rich database of collecting expertise free of charge to Internet users via Maloney's Online.

David Maloney is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property and past vice president of the International Society of Appraisers. After completing his military service, the Coast Guard Academy Graduate operated an antiques business for several years before founding Frederick Appraisal, Claims & Estate Services in 1982. He hosted the PBS television series Collecting Across America and has been featured regularly on Treasures In Your Home: The World of Collecting since it began in August.
