Maloney joins Channelspace Entertainment, Inc., as Chief Appraisal
Officer CSEI Innovates by Naming Collecting's First
CAO
Norfolk, VA –(November 3, 1999) David Maloney, a giant in the
field of collectibles valuation, has joined ChannelSpace
Entertainment, Inc. ( CSEI) as Chief Appraisal Officer
(CAO). In this newly created position, Maloney will direct all
appraisal activities of collectingchannel.com, the leading
affinity portal for the collecting community on the Internet.
"This is the first CAO in the entire collectibles field,"
explains Barry Friedman, co-founder and CEO of CSEI. "We've created
this position, and hired the eminent Dave Maloney to fill it, to
demonstrate that our commitment to the collectibles community is
total and long-range."
Maloney will be highly visible online. He will represent
collectingchannel.com at shows and
industry events and help educate collectibles consumers with
lectures, seminars and appraisal courses. Maloney's
Online, a unique database of people,
organizations and institutions in the collecting field, also becomes
part of collectingchannel.com as a result of this historic
appointment.
As chief appraisal officer, Maloney will be featured prominently
on the company's Treasures
In Your Home: The World of Collecting TV
series, seen weeknights on the PAX Network, 7-8 PM EDT. He also
assumes responsibility for the popular show's appraisal activities,
including the selection of all other appraisers used on Treasures
In Your Home: The World of Collecting.
As a result of the agreement, CSEI becomes the copyright holder
of Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory.
In addition to continuing the longstanding, successful print run of
the Maloney’s Directory, CSEI will also present the incredibly rich
database of collecting expertise free of charge to Internet users
via Maloney's Online.
David Maloney is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property and
past vice president of the International Society of Appraisers.
After completing his military service, the Coast Guard Academy
Graduate operated an antiques business for several years before
founding Frederick Appraisal, Claims & Estate Services in 1982.
He hosted the PBS television series Collecting Across America and has
been featured regularly on Treasures
In Your Home: The World of Collecting
since it began in August.
