Sales OnLine Direct Launches the Nations Largest 24X7 On-Demand Video Programming for the Collectibles Marketplace on CollectingChannel.com
August 06, 2002 09:54:00 AM ET

Award Winning 'Treasures in Your Home,' 'Collecting Across America' and Other Programs Now Airing

Thousands of Hours of Searchable Content Available On Demand
Online Broadcast Opens New Revenue Stream

    WORCESTER, Mass., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CollectingChannel.com a
Sales OnLine Direct Company (OTC Bulletin Board: PAID) has launched 24-hour
broadcasting of the nation's most extensive antiques and collecting oriented
video programming on its www.CollectingChannel.com portal. More than 200
episodes of the critically acclaimed "Treasures in Your Home" which originally
aired on PAX TV, 26 PBS "Collecting Across America" episodes as well as
hundreds of expert feature pieces, "how-to" vignettes and "Lunch break Live"
tip segments with premier collectibles experts are now being broadcast online.
Sales OnLine Direct is one of only a few companies offering 24-hour online
broadcast programming. It is unique in that all the video content is
catalogued and searchable by topic for on-demand viewing round the clock.
Sales OnLine Direct's proprietary electronic content management services
(ECMS) enables viewers to enter a search term and immediately access all
related video segments from its library of nearly 20,000 minutes of
collectibles-oriented programming -- a process that would take hours if done
manually. All content is accessible with any RealMedia player.
"Sales OnLine Direct is making the largest known collection of antiques
and collectibles video programming available for free online to allow
consumers to indulge their passion for collecting and learn more about their
specific areas of interest," said Greg Rotman, CEO of Sales OnLine Direct.
"Interest in collecting and online auctions has grown exponentially in the
past few years and this is a tremendous resource for both new and experienced
collectors. We anticipate that all levels of collectors will visit the site
frequently to learn more about the items they collect, as well as for
entertainment."
"The timeless, engaging content draws a highly targeted audience for
extended periods," Rotman added. "This audience is very attractive to
potential advertisers, creating a new revenue stream for us. In addition, the
new program creates merchandising opportunities for our own related products
and services that can generate substantial incremental sales."
Sales OnLine Direct acquired "Treasures in Your Home," "Collecting Across
America" and a wide array of collecting broadcast programming through its
acquisition of ChannelSpace Entertainment in late 2001. Sales OnLine is
leveraging these video assets by developing syndication and licensing programs
for the video programming to make it available to other portals and broadcast
outlets.
"Treasures in Your Home," the popular, nationally televised collectibles
program, showcases the broadest possible range of collectibles -- everything
from priceless antiques to quirky collections of pop culture items. The show
also features online and traditional auctions by well-known collectibles
experts, educational "how-to" segments and expert appraisals by the
CollectingChannel.com's Dave Maloney, author of the 'bible' of the collecting
world -- "Maloney's Antiques and Collectibles Resource Directory."
