Riley, Ganse, Peuler Get Nod
Running unopposed, Art Riley recieved the Capital District's unanimous acclamation as Governor 2007-2008 during the Capital District Convention which was recently held in Rockville, MD. Also unopposed, Tom Ganse received the District's unanimous acclamation as Governor Elect 2007-2008. None of the three candidates (Dick Feeser, Charlie Adams, Jerry Peuler) who were vying for Capital District's Endorsement for the position of Kiwanis International Trustee received a majority vote on the first ballot, necessitating a run-off between Adams and Peuler. On the second ballot, Peuler won the endorsement.

New Kiwanis Club of Dulles Area

Congratulations to Division 20 and LTG Tony Gee for the formation of the Capital District's fourth new club this year, the Kiwanis Club of the Dulles Area, VA, organized today with 25 members (and growing)! A special thanks go out to the sponsoring club of Arlington and their New Club Building Team led by PGs Ed Novak and Warren Kane, and to PG John Tyner for his continuous support throughout the formative process. GREAT JOB!

Governor Bob Cressy was on hand today to immediately install the Charter Officers and Directors. This is a creative and dynamic group that is already making a difference in the greater Dulles Area, and one that is not afraid to try new and different approaches to remain relevant in the community they serve!

A Charter Picnic is tentatively set for September 30th, 2007 at Algonkian Park. Please stay tuned for more detailed information as it becomes available.

89th Capital District Convention
- Epilogue -

By the time the dust settled there were 590 registrants to the capial District Convention held recently in Rockville, Maryland. Chairman, Charles Falck and his committee would like to thank all those who participated in making the event a success. We look forward to seeing everybody next year in Richmond.
