Helping Hands: An Anthology of Children's Stories
Reserve Your Copy Today and Help CKI Build a Library in Honduras
submitted by Jeffrey Wolff

Helping Hands is a compilation of stories written by children about the joys of helping others. Each story shows how a little love and kindness can go a long way. The cost of the book if ordered through CDCKI is $15.00 (USD).

The book will be distributed in early December 2007 and everyone who reserves a book will be contacted when the book is ready about making payment. All profits from Helping Hands will go towards the San Francisco de Opalaca Library in Honduras. The goal is to raise $10,000 which will be enough to physically build and fully furnish the library.

The San Francisco de Opalaca Library will be the first public library in the entire northeastern region of Honduras. Having this library built would be the first step to help provide the villagers with the means to further develop their literacy skills. The ability to read and write are essential skills needed to get ahead in life. Improving the literacy rate of the town would cause a ripple effect to improve the impoverished state of Opalaca.

CDCKI is partnering with Students Helping Honduras (SHH) to make this library possible. SHH is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping fulfill basic human needs to the citizens of Honduras. Please encourage your club members to purchase copies of the book. Reservations orders are being taken at the CDCKI web site at http://cdcki.org/events/Helping_Hands.htm.
