The Reister's Towne Festival
on Saturday, and Sunday Sept 8 and 9, celebrated the
ending of summer by providing fun, games, food and
entertainment for the communities of Reisterstown,
Owings Mills, and Glyndon.
The
Kiwanis Club of Reisterstown, MD entered this float
(right) in the 21th year of the Reister's
Towne Festival. Our float presented the various children
related projects that we support. From the left,
we had students receiving $6,000 in scholarships; the
presentation of Terrific Kids certificates and bumper
stickers; sponsored Key Clubs; soccer players on
our
sponsored team and our troop sponsored boy scouts
tying knots.
To raise funds for our service budget and projects,
our members make and sell funnel cakes (left) at
the festival grounds over the week-end. We sold a
few
cakes
shy of 700. We helped fill the stomachs of the Festival
crowd and had the opportunity to tell them about
our service to the community.
