When Sally Fintel retired from Cape Henlopen School District this past June, she left behind the Kiwanis Hippotherapy program, but not her memories. For Sally, October 18 was "This is Your Life Sally" a special evening as Rehoboth Kiwanis Club recognized her for 20 Years with the program. Sally remembered the many children the program nurtured and assisted, the support of Kiwanis friends, Jack Eliason, Dick Koch, Art Pressl, Bill Cristea, and Warren MacDonald. She laughed as she related how stable owner, "Katrina" who started "equine therapy" got one horse. She beamed on the arrival of instructors Gloria Truitt and Kelly Smith, who recently told Club members how children increased their self-esteem, self-discipline and other skills when they rode Champ or Nesca. Sally will still be in the area, as she teaches with her husband Bill, about her other passion, Bird Watching, at UDEL's Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning.
