Last month, I attended a meeting of District Risk Managers in Indianapolis. We learned that there will be very few changes in Kiwanis's insurance program over the next year. First, the cost ($11.90 per Kiwanian each year) will stay the same. Also, the coverage we have under our General Liability Policy remains basically unchanged. The optional Directors and Officers and Crime packages continue to be available for clubs and Districts that choose such coverage. One major change that was discussed in San Antonio involves new Guidelines for adults who work with children under the age of 18. The objective is to ensure that those with a record of any inappropriate conduct not have access to young children through Kiwanis. These Guidelines do not currently apply to the clubs, but Kiwanians should watch for developments as the program unfolds. If you have any questions, please contact me at 410 294 9423.
