One sponsored Governor Art Riley's Governors Visit
this past Friday
evening October 12, 2007 on the waterfront at Pier
7 Seafood Restaurant. There were about 125 Kiwanians
and friend in attendance. We received a wonderful speech
from the governor. LTG Joe Bowser presented an American
Flag that had been flown over the Capital and the White
House. Our First lady Vickie was presented a beautiful
Crystal serving dish.
Division One past LTG Barbara Tate was inducted into
the Past LTG Hall of Fame (HOF). Also, Past Governor
Linwood Watson was inducted as our new Chairman of
the Board (CEO) of HOF. All club Presidents met with
the Governor before the Dinner and all Presidents
gave updated reports of there club activities for
the coming year.
Membership Growth and Public Relations is our biggest
project for this year. This is our light for this

Kiwanis International President Dave Curry (right) and First Lady Eva Curry will
be visiting the Capital District in late January 2008. During
this special time our district will be hosting a number of
events for the First Family of Kiwanis. On Saturday evening,
January 26, 2008 Governor Art and First Lady Vickie will
host a reception from 6-7 pm (with cash bar) followed by
dinner at the Comfort Inn Conference Center, 4500 Crain Hwy,
Bowie, Maryland 20716.
