Wheaton-Silver
Spring Club Celebrates 57th Annual Charter Night!
by Betty Gardner
The Wheaton-Silver Spring
Kiwanis Club celebrated the club's 57th Annual Charter
Night and 50 years of community service at the Argyle
Country Club this month. It was a wonderful event and
everyone had a great time. President Joyce Sharon arranged
for a wonderful group to entertain us with great music
and everyone enjoyed the dancing.
Governor Riley and Vicki were in attendance and the Governor presented the 50 Year Legion of Honor Certificate to Kenneth David, and a letter of congratulations to him from International President David Curry. He also presented 25 year Legion of Honor Certificates to John Watson and Douglas Gardiner.
President Joyce sponsored new member Carolyn Wynn, who was inducted by the Governor. Joyce has brought four new members into the club this year. (Pictured above new Member Carolyn Wynn receives membership pin from sponsor, President Joyce Sharon, as Governor Art Riley looks on.)
Immediate Past Governor, 2006-2007 Robert Cressy presented the Kiwanis Club of Wheaton-Silver Spring, Past President Deborah Macon and Secretary Kathleen Thompson with the Distinguished Club Award for 2006-2007. He also presented Betty Gardiner, Lt. Governor 2006-2007 Division Seventeen with the Distinguished Lt. Governor Award.

The
final version of the proposed Strategic Plan for our District
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
at
DCON
2008 in
Richmond,

this
summer.
Once
ratified
