Club Clean Sweep, Pancake Breakfast and More

| Members of the Kiwanis Club of Winchester (VA) rest after participating in the Frederick County (VA) April Clean Sweep Litter-Thon 2008 after picking up trash on their designated Adopt-A-Highway area Interchange of Rt 81 and Route 7 in Frederick County (VA). | Kiwanian Bill Harbaugh of the Kiwanis Club of Winchester (VA) counts the receipts from the April all-day Pancake Day event which featured serving over 6300 Pancake-Sausage Meals for a profit of ove $30,000.00. This is the 51st year the Club has held this event twice a year. | ![]() |
| Kiwanian Doug Butler of the Kiwanis Club of Winchester (VA) fullfilled his goal of sponsoring one new member in each of the 3 Kiwanis Clubs he holds membership in during April 2008 by presenting induction information to Kay Anderson in the Winchester Club. Butler sponsored Becky Romaine in the Kiwanis Club of Blue Ridge (Winchester,Va) and Kendra Tolley in the Kiwanis Club of Old Town (Winchester, Va) May 25, 2008 starts the beginning of Butler's 59th year as a Kiwanian. | ![]() |

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year’s theme
is “Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights—not
to be missed—is Friday night’s Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention. 
The
final version of the proposed Strategic Plan for our District
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
at
DCON
2008 in
Richmond,
VA
this
summer.
Once
ratified
by the District delegates, the plan belongs to the District
membership and the District Board will be charged with executing
it.
