Family "K" Day
May 17th at Carol Jean Cancer-Camp Friendship
by Jeanne Smith, Chairperson
Please join us to help clean up the Carol Jean Cancer-Camp
Friendship. The committee is working hard to make this a
special time for all. There is a lot of work to be done and
there will be plenty of jobs to go around (some sit down
jobs). We will be getting Camp Friendship ready for state
inspection prior to opening the camp. Key Club Lt. Governor
Brent Abel of Paint Branch High has been helping to bring
out the Key Club workers. Last year we had a good turnout
and we are hoping for a much larger turnout this year. Don't
forget the bring: rakes, pitch forks, garden gloves or other
tools you may have. Mark everything with your name. Important
reminder: No sandals, No shorts, Wear Long Sleeve Shirts,
Wear Long Pants, Wear Long Socks. Here is a flyer regarding
the event as well as a sign-up sheet. See you there!

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year’s theme
is “Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights—not
to be missed—is Friday night’s Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
The
final version of the proposed Strategic Plan for our District
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
at
DCON
2008 in
Richmond,
VA
this
summer.
Once
ratified
by the District delegates, the plan belongs to the District
membership and the District Board will be charged with executing
it.
