Corner Club Celebrates 10th Birthday and You Are Invited
by Jeffrey M. Wolff
The first Kiwanis Club
specifically aimed at young professionals first chartered
back on June 23, 1998 and is now celebrating its diamond
anniversary this summer with a formal dinner and dance.
On June, 7th 2008, the club is inviting all members
of the Kiwanis-family to join us at the Arts Club of
Washington (20th & I Street NW) for a gala affair to look back on our club's achievements in helping
the community, as well as fundraise for our Service
Leadership Programs. The Arts Club of Washington is
the former executive mansion of President James Monroe
and will serve as an elegant backdrop for this night
of dinner, dancing, silent auctions and fellowship.
This will be the event of the year and we hope that
all of you can join us. The cost is $60/person and
attire for the evening is black tie optional. Free
street parking is available and there are also several
garages located nearby. To be added to the guest list,
please call Jeffrey Wolff at (703) 615-4477

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year’s theme
is “Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights—not
to be missed—is Friday night’s Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
The
final version of the proposed Strategic Plan for our District
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
at
DCON
2008 in
Richmond,
VA
this
summer.
Once
ratified
by the District delegates, the plan belongs to the District
membership and the District Board will be charged with executing
it.
