Annual
Kiwanis Italian Dinner is a Great Success

Once again Kiwanis wants to thank the community for it's
wonderful support of another Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean
Pines/Ocean City event. A Great BIG THANK YOU to Kelli and
Bob Beck, owners and operators of DeNovo's Trattoria in Ocean
Pines, who made this event memorable by allowing it to happen
at their establishment and preparing and donating the food.
The DeNovo staff also donated their time to prepare the food
and work alongside the Kiwanis volunteers who served it.
What wonderful community support.
The effort along with the profit from the 50/50 drawing,
provided enough income to fund two (2) of the annual scholarships
to be awarded to deserving senior students to further their
education from the club's Scholarship Foundation. Pictured
are some happy people getting their delicious meal from
the buffet line.
The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year’s theme
is “Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights—not
to be missed—is Friday night’s Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention. 
The
final version of the proposed Strategic Plan for our District
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
at
DCON
2008 in
Richmond,
VA
this
summer.
Once
ratified
by the District delegates, the plan belongs to the District
membership and the District Board will be charged with executing
it.
