Kiwanis Club of Waldorf
members welcomed Kiwanis International President Dave
Curry and First Lady Eva (right) to the Capital District
in January. Past Governor Jerry Peuler, member of the
Waldorf Club, helped plan and implement the Official
Visit and escorted our honored guests to many of their
various events. They were particularly impressed with
the long history of the Capital District area, including
Southern Maryland.
PG Jerry, on behalf of the Waldorf Club, presented Dave and Eva with Capital District's patriotic red, white and blue shirts, gift of the Waldorf Club and made by member Lloyd Morrison, owner of Somethin' Special.
At the district dinner for Dave and Eva, master of ceremonies Jerry presented the first couple with a framed composite of photographs depicting famous historical sites from each Capital District state, as well as the District of Columbia. Governor Art Riley's idea for the photographic composite was translated into reality by Waldorf Club member, Eric Kriemelmeyer, a graphic artist. The Kiwanis Club of Waldorf was honored to celebrate the Official Visit of KI President Dave Curry and First Lady Eva.

By
the time you read this, the proposed Strategic Plan has
been reviewed in two increments by the District Long
Range Planning Committee,
those incremental results have been endorsed by the
District Board, and four of the eight District Regions
have had
the opportunity to attend presentations on "VISION: 20/15", to include the Strategic Plan. Between now and mid-April, all remaining Regions
will share in that opportunity. From there, all input
from all sources will be considered before the Board
endorses a final version of the Plan. That final version
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
in Richmond this Summer. Once ratified by the delegates,
the plan belongs to the District membership and the
District Board will be charged with executing it.
