If you want to know more about Virginia politics, the situation in Pakistan, or get ready for baseball, have a great luncheon, and enjoy outstanding Kiwanis fellowship, visit the Arlington Club during March. The Club has scheduled five terrific programs between March 5 and April 2, as follows:
- March 5: Virginia Attorney General Robert F. McDonnell, who grew up in Fairfax County, served 21 years in the U.S. Army and as a Delegate from Virginia Beach before his election to be Attorney General in 2005. McDonnell is rumored to be one of the Republican candidates for Governor of Virginia in 2009.
- March 12: Club President-Elect Khalid Siraj, a native of Pakistan, and retired World Bank Senior Advisor to the Government of Pakistan, will offer an overview of this world hot spot.
- March 19: Club member State Senator Mary Margaret Whipple will present her annual summary of the just completed session of the Virginia General Assembly.
- March 26: Susanna Hall of the Potomac Nationals will give us a preview of the upcoming season of the Washington Nationals farm team in the Carolina League.
- April 2: Virginia Lieutenant Governor William T. Bolling will be the speaker. Mr. Bolling is also rumored to be one of the Republican candidates for Governor in 2009.
The Arlington Club meets every Wednesday at Noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 5115 Little Falls Road in Arlington. A delicious buffet luncheon is served for just $10 each. Please let President Ted Kramer, 703-304-1140, or Past Governor Warren Kane, 703-524-0997, know that you're coming so that we may be prepared.

By
the time you read this, the proposed Strategic Plan has
been reviewed in two increments by the District Long
Range Planning Committee,
those incremental results have been endorsed by the
District Board, and four of the eight District Regions
have had
the opportunity to attend presentations on "VISION: 20/15", to include the Strategic Plan. Between now and mid-April, all remaining Regions
will share in that opportunity. From there, all input
from all sources will be considered before the Board
endorses a final version of the Plan. That final version
will be presented to the House of Delegates for ratification
in Richmond this Summer. Once ratified by the delegates,
the plan belongs to the District membership and the
District Board will be charged with executing it.
