Kiwanis
Club of Waldorf Foundation Awards Scholarships
by Millie Kriemelmeyer
Two $500 Robert A. Heier Memorial Scholarships were awarded in May by the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf, Maryland Foundation, Inc. The scholarship is funded by family, friends and fellow Kiwanians of Robert A. Heier, a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf. Graduating high school seniors who will be attending college and who are members of Key Clubs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf are eligible to apply for scholarships. This year's scholarships went to two Key Club presidents. For three years, Michelle Hardesty has been president of the Thomas Stone High School Key Club in Waldorf. Michelle will be going to the University of Maryland, College Park. Erika Prate is president of the Henry E. Lackey High School Key Club in Indian Head. Erika will be going to Salisbury State University. The Kiwanis Club of Waldorf is proud of the accomplishments of all our Key Clubbers. We congratulate the scholarship winners.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
