Soldiers
Address Williamsburg Club
by Greg Davy
Two soldiers from Fort
Eustis who have seen action overseas visited the Kiwanis
Club of Williamsburg recently to talk about how military
uniforms have changed over the years, and what to expect
in the future. SSG James E. Davis, left, dons about
200 pounds of equipment to demonstrate the excellent
physical condition the modern soldier must maintain,
while SFC Bennie E. Lentz explains to members the function
of each piece. Future uniforms will contain internal
air conditioning systems and a camera system installed
in the helmet that will allow the soldier to see in
all directions as well as allow the central command
post to track the soldier's movements.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
