In
Memory: Ken Cox
by Janice MacKinnon
The Kiwanis Club of Capitol
Hill is mourning the loss of Kenneth Isaac Cox (right).
At the service on April 30,2008, Kenneth Tracy included
these remarks in his tribute to Ken. "Ken Cox was a good man and the consummate Kiwanian who embodied the Objects of
Kiwanis... Ken Cox gave willingly of his time, his
talent and his treasure. His very last act on this
earth was spent servicing his fellow man as he and
Melissa were preparing the food for our breakfast meeting.
He appeared happiest when he was sharing his knowledge,
information or his good fortune with others. He was
a mathematical genius who offered his talent in fund
raising and budget situations. Ken was truly in his
element when he was offering assistance or helping
others...Lately, Ken was so gung-ho on Kiwanis that
I'm sure early last Thursday morning when he arrived
at the Pearly Gates, the first question he asked Saint
Peter was, where is the nearest Kiwanis Club??? If
there wasn't one, you can rest assured that he is busy
right now on Heaven's Boulevard establishing one." Ken Cox will be missed by his family, by Kiwanis, the children and communities
of the world.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
