Reisterstown
Club - Funnel Cakes and New Member
by Steve Jenkins
The Kiwanis club of Reisterstown
had a fundraiser at "Hampstead Day." This is an annual event. We start around 9:00 a.m. and end around 5:30 p.m.
We cook funnel cakes for this event and actually cooked
over 550 of them throughout the day. We do a lot of
events making and selling funnel cakes. On May 3, 2008
we sold funnel cakes at Timber Grove Elementary School
for there Spring Festival. On May 17, 2008 and the
rest of the summer ( the second Saturday of each month)
we sell funnel cakes for a demolition derby held at
Arcadia Fire Company.
On May 20, 2008 at our Kiwanis Club meeting, we inducted a new member, Bill Reusing. He is very interested in helping our club through fundraiser and help with hands on projects. We are hoping he will get involved with Dig DeGarmo, our President-elect, to form a Builder's club. Attached is the photo of the inductions. Starting from left to right is Steve Jenkins, President of Kiwanis Club, Gary Beck, Chairman of the membership committee and program chairman, Bill Reusing (New Member) and Jerry DeBar (he brought Mr. Reusing into the club.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
