Builders
Club Fee Change for 2008-09
by Sherri McKeen
Dear District Secretaries:
Kiwanis' Service Leadership Programs remind us that the future of this world "is determined by younger generations." When clubs in your district sponsor Service Leadership Programs-like Builders Clubs-they help Kiwanis empower youth and young adults to become competent, capable, compassionate servant leaders.
It's in our best interests to make sure these clubs succeed. That's why we are implementing a change to the Builders Club fee structure we hope will spark growth in the program. Beginning with the upcoming 2008-09 administrative year, Builders Clubs will be assessed an annual club fee of $150, to be billed to each club's sponsoring Kiwanis club. The new annual club fee replaces the current system of individual membership fees, which currently are $3.50 per Builders Club members.
We need your help in spreading the word about the change in the way Kiwanis clubs underwrite the Builders Clubs they sponsor. The attached flier detailing the fee change is being mailed to each Kiwanis Club Secretary and President of a Kiwanis Club that sponsors a Builders Club. I encourage you to also reproduce this flier in your district newsletters and make copies of it to share with those attending your midyear conventions.
Thank you for your efforts in spreading the word about this change. If you need any additional information from Kiwanis International, please do not hesitate to contact me
Sincerely,
Sherri McKeen

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
