The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at the
Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center, just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's theme
is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention. Bull

The Kiwanis Club of Bull Run recently
presented its 2008 scholarships at a breakfast meeting
at the City Tavern. The recipients who received $750 each
are, front row, Brandy N. Milbourne, left, of Osbourn Park
High School; Nicole M. Wood of Battlefield; and Jessica
A. Cerullo of Osbourn; and standing Tony Maloney, president;
Megan D. Hardcastle of Osbourn; Ana R. Zambrano of Stonewall
Jackson;, Allison L. Corish of Brentsville District, Krystal
M. Benda of Manassas Park and Joe Martin, scholarship chairman.
Cerullo was the $1,000 recipient of the Linwood Carter
Memorial Scholarship, named for a former member of the
club. Brian Regan of Osbourn also received a memorial scholarship
for $1,000.
