Airy Kiwanis Awards Scholarships

Four deserving South Carroll graduating Seniors have been
awarded scholarships by the Kiwanis Club of Mt. Airy to apply
to their college expenses. All of the recipients are active
members of the Key Club at South Carroll, a service leadership
program proudly sponsored by Mt. Airy Kiwanis. Pictured left
to right at a recent Kiwanis Club meeting where each of the
students was presented and recognized: Linda Grace, Faculty
Advisor for the Key Club; recipient Christopher Rogers who
will be attending Virginia Tech in the Fall; recipient Lori
Wiles who will be attending Hood College; recipient Anna
Weaver who will be attending St. Mary's College; recipient
Maura Keenan who will be attending Towson State; Marion Taylor,
Mt. Airy Kiwanis President; and Andy Mason, Chairperson for
the Kiwanis Club's Sponsored Youth Committee and scholarship
program.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at
the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center,
just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's
theme is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
