Ocean
Pines/Ocean City Club Grows by One
by Dave Landis
The life blood of any organization is its membership and
Kiwanis just got healthier with the addition of its newest
member, Bob Pfeifer on the left being sworn in by Membership
Chairman, Don Schmid on the right while the club's President,
Ed Schaefer observes in the middle.
Bob and his wife Lois moved to "The
Parke" in Ocean Pines in March of 2007. Bob is a native Baltimorean where he and is
wife raised four children while he spent 31 years in the
Financial Services Industry. He took early retirement and
helped his son build a hardwood floor installation and refurbishing
business. After another 15 years of work, the Pfeifer's decided
to "retire" and move here to the Eastern Shore. It's good to know he's a hard worker as
that trait will come in handy "Serving the Children of the World" which is the goal of Kiwanis.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at
the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center,
just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's
theme is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
