Daniel
Morgan Builders Club Holds Mini Relay for Life
by
Bill Jeunette
The Builders Club of Daniel
Morgan Middle School in Winchester held a "Mini Relay for Life" on May 30th after school from 3:30 to 8:30 using the school track. The Relay
was held prior to the scheduled Community event so
that students could participate at the school rather
than at the location of the community event, which
is scheduled after the end of the school year. The
club fielded several teams as well as teams from teachers
and grades. Weather was warm but not hot enough to
discourage the 45 students and Builders and 15 teachers
and parents from entering the Relay. At the end of
the 5 hour Relay and the proceeds were tallied the
Mini Relay for Life had earned $2,318.56 to be forwarded
as part of the community program later in the month.
Our Builders can be proud of their commitment to a
worthy cause.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at
the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center,
just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's
theme is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
