Grassfield
High School Key Club Charter Night

On May 7th, Jim Chellew,
Great Bridge Kiwanis Sponsored Youth Chairman, had
the pleasure of presenting the charter to the new Grassfield
High School Key Club which chartered with 80 members.
Anne Elder the out going key club Lt. Gov. was on the
agenda and installed the officers.
Great Bridge Kiwanis also presented our gifts (banner,
bell, and gavel). Pins were presented to the officers,
advisors & members
by Anne.
Present were 26 members, numerous parents and Wayne and Vancy Parrish (Great Bridge President-elect & Secretary). Also, one of the parents was Chesapeake City Manager, William Harrell whose daughter is a Key Club member. Jim Chellew quickly invited him to be a guest at our next meeting on 5/13 and asked him to be one of our speakers. Many photos were taken and cake and punch enjoyed by all.

The 2008 Capital District Convention will be held this year from Thursday, August
14 through Sunday, August 17th in Richmond Virginia at
the Downtown Marriot and the Richmond Convention Center,
just
a few blocks from the State Capitol. Hosted by the Heart
of Virginia Region of the Capital District, this year's
theme is "Prescription For Success,” and one of the big highlights-not
to be missed-is Friday night's Birthday Party at the Marriott
to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the District Convention.
