East
Baltimore Club Holds Golf Classic
by Jerry Hoskins
The Kiwanis Club of East Baltimore held their Second Annual Golf Classic on Monday June 2nd at the exclusive Hunt Valley Golf and Country Club. It was a picture perfect day for golf. The weather could not have been better. It proved to be a fantastic day for players and volunteers!
The club raised over $5000 which will enable the club to provide assistance to many community programs. Among them are building the East Baltimore Kiwanis Playground at Hampstead Hill Academy, supporting the Johns Hopkins Burn Center at JHBMC, our School Fire Safety Instruction Program, the Terrific Kids program, our Safe Babies Program, The Care-A-Van Mobil Medical Clinic and the many others. The club has been a vital part of the community for the last sixty-one years. We are proud of our record of service and grateful to have had many local businesses partner with us on this project.
We are already considering dates for 2009 (hopefully in May!), and look forward an even more successful projectnext year. Want to play great course? Contact us about playing in next years tournament. It just gets bigger and better every year!
