Books
For Breakfast Sponsored by Tabb Club
by Elizabeth Tai
2008 "Books
for Breakfast" Program sponsored by the Tabb Kiwanis Club was wrapped up in May with 206 children
served. Over 200 children's books purchased with Tabb
Kiwanis Club funds were distributed to the students
who participating in the free breakfast programs in
Poquoson Primary School and Poquoson Elementary School.
To show our love for both children and books, Tabb
Kiwanis Club partnered with Poquoson Public Library
to provide this annual outreach literacy program for
young children in our community. Each child received
2 free books and listened to the book talks while they
are enjoying breakfast. A gold label with " A Gift from Tabb Kiwanis Club" was placed in the back cover of each book. This club project puts books on the
home shelves of children who might not have many books "of their own", and encourages literacy within the community. For more information about Program
or Membership information please contact David Pine
