Capital District Regional Mid-Winter Conference Schedule Announced

Governor-Elect Candidate

In accordance with the Capital District Policy Statements, qualified members who have filed their intention of being a candidate for the office of Governor-elect may have their candidacy announced District wide beginning on the second Friday in January. The Kiwanis club of Reisterstown, Maryland, supported by all of the Kiwanis clubs in Division Twelve, has presented Don L. Dudey as a candidate for the office of Governor-elect of the Capital District for the 2008-2009 Administrative year. - Ellis H. Stroup, District Secretary-Treasurer

Kiwanis International President's Capital District Visit/Dinner Scheduled

Kiwanis International President Dave and First Lady Eva Curry will be visiting the Capital District in late January 2008. During this special time our district will be hosting a number of events for the First Family of Kiwanis. more

Daniel Morgan Middle School Builders Club Collects Toys

The Builders Club of Daniel Morgan Middle School, Winchester, Va. collected over 800 toys in honor of slain Winchester police officer Ricky Timbrook. The Timbrook toy drive has been an annual event for the club and it was made especially hard this year with all the re-call problems. The 7/8 grades collected the greatest number of items for the drive. The club also participated in the Halloween UNICEF Fund Drive and were able to send a check in the amount of $125.00. The club is recruiting a team to enter the spring Cancer Society Walk for the Cure along with other projects.
