Capital District Regional Mid-Winter Conference Schedule Announced

Governor-Elect Candidate

In accordance with the Capital District Policy Statements, qualified members who have filed their intention of being a candidate for the office of Governor-elect may have their candidacy announced District wide beginning on the second Friday in January. The Kiwanis club of Reisterstown, Maryland, supported by all of the Kiwanis clubs in Division Twelve, has presented Don L. Dudey as a candidate for the office of Governor-elect of the Capital District for the 2008-2009 Administrative year. - Ellis H. Stroup, District Secretary-Treasurer

Kiwanis International President's Capital District Visit/Dinner Scheduled

Kiwanis International President Dave and First Lady Eva Curry will be visiting the Capital District in late January 2008. During this special time our district will be hosting a number of events for the First Family of Kiwanis. more

Stuart Hobson Middle School Builders Club Re-Chartered

The Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club recently received the re-chartering of the Stuart Hobson Middle School Builders Club. Though in operation since the early 1990s, the Builders Club had lapsed in its official status. This year, through the efforts of Faculty Sponsor Sandra Jenkins, spurred on by Club Secretary Lily Williams and other members of the Capitol Hill group, the middle school youth-sponsored organization is now once again official! On December 13th, the Club met with six officers of the Builders Club in the newly renovated Stuart Hobson MS library. There are more than 50 active members of the club and therefore they could not all be present. Nonetheless, Builders Club President Kayla Kelly and members Zoe Zakin and Katie Bucknum did a fine job of presenting themselves.
