Capital District Regional Mid-Winter Conference Schedule Announced

Governor-Elect Candidate

In accordance with the Capital District Policy Statements, qualified members who have filed their intention of being a candidate for the office of Governor-elect may have their candidacy announced District wide beginning on the second Friday in January. The Kiwanis club of Reisterstown, Maryland, supported by all of the Kiwanis clubs in Division Twelve, has presented Don L. Dudey as a candidate for the office of Governor-elect of the Capital District for the 2008-2009 Administrative year. - Ellis H. Stroup, District Secretary-Treasurer

Kiwanis International President's Capital District Visit/Dinner Scheduled

Kiwanis International President Dave and First Lady Eva Curry will be visiting the Capital District in late January 2008. During this special time our district will be hosting a number of events for the First Family of Kiwanis. more

DelMarVa Regional Mid-Winter Conference

The Delmarva Regional Midwinter Conference will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Community Church of Ocean Pines in Ocean Pines, Maryland. The Delmarva Midwinter Planning team has developed a program that will cover a variety of topics for club leaders and club members. - Fundraising ideas, service project ideas, diversity, childhood obesity, new member orientation suggestions, spiritual aims, and marketing of a Kiwanis club. Governor-elect Tom Ganse will be discussing the Capital District growth goals for the next few years and the planning needed to carry out the stated goals of the District. A highlight of this year's midwinter will be presentations by all of Service Leadership Programs that will include students, faculty advisors, and Kiwanis club representatives. The Key Clubs of Delmarva region will be holding concurrent programming for their members which will include the election of Key Club Lt. Governors for 2008-2009. All attendees will come together at lunch to hear a presentation by Kiwanis Governor Art Riley and who will be attending the event. Later in the day a new Trustee to serve a three year term will be elected by a regional House of Delegates.
