by Brittany Reichelt, Middletown Builders Club Secretary

The
Middletown Builders Club has 27 members. We have been
very busy this year.
These are some of the things we have accomplished.
The first thing we have done was to collect $429.30
for UNICEF. All of that money went to helping children
in Swaziland, Africa who are less fortunate. After
that project, we did "Make a Difference Day" at Hood College. School aged children, adults and seniors went to Hood College
and they made hats, booties, blankets, bibs and colorful
animals for children in the hospital (upper left).
They also made a quilt that will go into the children's
hospital.
Talking about making crafts, our next project was making
Christmas ornaments for the residents at Vindobona
Nursing Home. The crafts varied from reindeers, angels,
doves and button wreaths. These ornaments helped to
cheer up the residents for the holidays. Finally, we
helped the Kiwanis Club in gift-wrapping at the FSK
Mall in Frederick (upper right). All the money we helped
raise will go to local children's charities. So far,
this
year
has been very productive and we look forward to continuing
our services for the rest of the school year.
