Pictured is Kiwanis Chairman, Jerry Powell, for the Meals
on Wheels Program of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines/
Ocean City, reporting to the membership about the status
of the program and setting up members to serve.Every week on Mondays through Thursdays, Kiwanis members help to pack and deliver meals to citizens of the Berlin and Ocean Pines, Maryland areas.During the school year, the food is prepared at Stephen Decatur High School in their cafeteria kitchens and taken to the Berlin Senior Center for packaging into individual meals for distribution. This service is essential to many senior citizens at a very low cost to them. Some people qualify for free meals. Hot meals are delivered during the week and, if needed, there are frozen meals available for weekends and holidays when the Berlin Senior Center is not open for Meals on Wheels.
