KI Store Hit by Hackers

Almost daily, stories about credit card fraud and large corporate security breaches headline the news. Without question, these crimes are on the rise and criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Kiwanis International recently became victim to such a crime when we learned of an unauthorized intrusion into its Kiwanis Family Store Web site and related database, hosted by a third-party provider. The perpetrator gathered credit card information and shipping addresses by illegally accessing our system through the Internet. more

Mason-Dixon Region Mid-Winter Conference Hosts KI Pres. Dave & Eva Curry

As if a well-organized (thanks, Bill Hand!) conference full of excellent workshops was not enough, the 2008 Mason-Dixon Regional Mid-Winter Conference was honored with the presence of Kiwanis International Pres. Dave Curry and his wife, Eva. Dave even joined Gov. Art Riley and Immed.-Pat Gov. Bob Cressy to promote the June 26-29, 2008 Orlando, FL KI Convention. Second Key Leader Serviceship Weekend
by Babs Lee

The Capital District is excited about holding its Second Key Leader Serviceship Weekend this coming April. The move was made from fall to spring due to so many school conflicts (SAT testing, Homecoming, football season, and general trying to get back into the swing of school). With an expected doubling of numbers, Key Leader has quickly outgrown Camp Letts. Key Leader will be held at the Ann Arundal Public Schools' facility in Millersville, MD. Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center has been used in the past for the K-Family Weekend under Gov. Holley. We are pleased that the school system is allowing us to use the facilities on the weekend of April 25th - 27th. They will also be providing a ropes course and a possible service project for Saturday activities.

Local Kiwanis Clubs are encouraged to get the word out to all area high schools and recruit, particularly from among non-Key Club members, as well as current Key Clubbers. Here is a flyer with all the details.

All registration is done on line by contacting www.key-leader.org. Information on Arlington Echo can be obtained on www.arlingtonecho.net. Please attend the Mid Winter Conference sessions on Key Leader and get actively involved in this awesome Sevice-Leadership/Service-learning curriculum sponsored by Kiwanis International.
