KI Store Hit by Hackers

Almost daily, stories about credit card fraud and large corporate security breaches headline the news. Without question, these crimes are on the rise and criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Kiwanis International recently became victim to such a crime when we learned of an unauthorized intrusion into its Kiwanis Family Store Web site and related database, hosted by a third-party provider. The perpetrator gathered credit card information and shipping addresses by illegally accessing our system through the Internet. more

Mason-Dixon Region Mid-Winter Conference Hosts KI Pres. Dave & Eva Curry

As if a well-organized (thanks, Bill Hand!) conference full of excellent workshops was not enough, the 2008 Mason-Dixon Regional Mid-Winter Conference was honored with the presence of Kiwanis International Pres. Dave Curry and his wife, Eva. Dave even joined Gov. Art Riley and Immed.-Pat Gov. Bob Cressy to promote the June 26-29, 2008 Orlando, FL KI Convention. Spring Dell aKtion Club Election

The Spring Dell Center aKtion Club, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf, met on Monday, January 14, 2008. Officers were elected and the new Advisor was inducted into Kiwanis. The photograph at left shows the happy faces of Candice Ogden (2nd from left) with the newly-elected aKtion Club officers. At right, Kiwanis Club of Waldorf President Kelley Jennings inducting and pinning Candice Ogden, aKtion Club Advisor and new member of the Kiwanis Club of Waldorf. Throughout the year, the aKtion Club keeps busy with projects. They hold fundraising events, such as a car wash, ice cream social and bake sales, to raise funds for their community service projects. They adopted nearby Matula Elementary School and provide school supplies and nonperishable food for needy students and their families. The Kiwanis Club of Waldorf is proud to sponsor the Spring Dell Center aKtion Club. Congratulations to the 2008 SDC AKtion Club Officers: President Jeff Hubbard, Vice President Pam Bealle, Secretary Lacy Bullard, Assistant Secretary Donna Bailey, Treasurer John McGraw.
