It is certainly not often that a Kiwanis International President and First Lady have the opportunity to visit as long as Dave and Eva did in our Capital District. As you can see they spent around ten days in our area as witnessed by the photos of social events and meetings, both big and small. They got a good overview to be sure. Dave was International Trustee to Capital when Jerry Pueler was Governor. They have a close friendship and Jerry chaired the district dinner at Bowie, Maryland, on January 26th. Governor Art, of course, and Dave are close friends, as is PG John Tyner. Together they kept the Curry's on the move. There was Great hospitality by all of you in putting together such a memorable time for Dave and Eva and the Capital District.
| President Dave is Irish, you know. It became hard to hide after we saw the shamrocks on the table, green napkins and listened to Dave be serenaded by the wandering string quartet with "When Irish eyes are shining". He liked it. You can tell. CKI Governor Sneha Bhat liked it, too! | ![]() |
| Dave tells his message of "Sharing Your Story" with others as Kiwanians and updated the 240 plus attendees on his travels through the District up to that point. He also told a few Irish jokes, and quite well. He IS Irish! | ![]() |
| PG and Capital District candidate for International Trustee Jerry Pueler coordinated this visit and he presented a few nice gifts to President Dave. Here they both examine some nice little Irish green - things. | ![]() |
| Now here's a gift Dave can use – a real green Irish hat! Very nice and sophisticated! | ![]() |
| On behalf of the Capital District Governor Art presented a nicely framed collage group of photos of major attractions in our Capital District. Art and Vickie make the presentation to Eva and Dave. | ![]() |
| A not too candid
a shot of Division One PLGs Doris Montgomery and
Marie Quick, Immediate Past Governor Bob Cressy and
our host Capital District Governor Art Riley. Well
done, Art! |
