Kiwanis International President's Capital District Visit/Dinner Scheduled

Kiwanis International President Dave and First Lady Eva Curry will be visiting the Capital District in late January 2008. During this special time our district will be hosting a number of events for the First Family of Kiwanis. more

Governor Art Riley and First Lady Vickie Visit Southwest Region

It's a long trip from Westminster, MD to the far corner of the Capital District's Southwest Region, but Governor Art and his wife, Vickie, spent the weekend prior to Thanksgiving doing just that -- as part of their official visits to Region 2, 3 and 8. By all measures, the trip was a success. more

Capital District Foundation Donates to Children's Hospital

Kimberly Lane, Director CMN Children's Hospital Foundation right, accepts a check in the amount of $3,150 from Div. 1 Past Lt. Gov. Bernice Oden and Jacquelyn Lowe. The check comes from the Capital District Foundation which raises funds through annual Ducky Derby and the Caring Corner held at the annual Capital District Conference. The funds will be used to purchase a "Transport Isolette" similar to the one shown below right by Dr. Cavett. The device is used to move infants for treatment within the hospital. The "Transport Isolette" costs over $7,000. The donation from the Capital District Foundation will cover almost half the cost and will be helpful to children throughout Washington DC Area.
