The
Kiwanis Club of Waldorf celebrated their 28th Charter Anniversary
on November 30, 2007 with a dinner and a ceremony
to honor John Harris, Jr., known as "Jr." to
most Kiwanians (right). Jr. joined Kiwanis in 1982 and during
the past 25 years has demonstrated outstanding leadership
and
service to Kiwanis and the community. The Club honored him
by presenting the Legion of Honor Award for his 25 years
of membership in Kiwanis and devotion to service. Jr. served
Division 22 as the first Lieutenant Governor for its first
two years. He has been the District New Club Building Chair
and served on the TAG Team. He has built nine clubs and recruited
more than 400 new members. Jr. has helped with every Club
service project and served on most boards. Jr. says he believes
in giving back to the community. For all these reasons, the
Club is proud of Jr. Harris.
