Builders Club Coloring Contest and UNICEF Project
by Carla Daly

The Parkland Magnet Middle School for Aerospace Technology Builders Club sponsored the 1st Annual Coloring Contest and set up a UNICEF collection table during the 6th Annual "Pancakes for Scholarships" Breakfast sponsored by the Wheaton-Silver Spring Kiwanis Club and the Wheaton High School Key Club on October 20th at Wheaton High School. The Pancake Breakfast benefits students at Wheaton High School with scholarships. The Coloring Contest had a Breakfast and Halloween theme, was complimentary and honored 6 Winners from ages 2-11. Each Contest winner (one of which is pictured right) won certificates for 2 games of miniature golf donated from Mid-Atlantic Golf as well as ice cream certificates donated from Carvel Ice Cream CINNABON. The Coloring Contest was a great success and fun was had by all ages. UNICEF collection is an annual project and the Builders Club set up a table at the Pancake Breakfast to help raise their goal of $500. Looking forward the Builders Club is busy organizing, planning and gearing up for their Annual Holiday Food Drive in support of the Mid-County United Ministries (MUM). Alex Michnewich and Florence Ng are the Faculty Advisors.
