Dr. Astril Webb is one of the newest members of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Landover. She is a medical doctor who has worked for several non-profit organizations working closely with executives, Governance Boards, and other community leaders. This young woman is no stranger to volunteerism and her diverse background makes her a great Kiwanian. Currently Dr. Webb chairs the Childhood Obesity Initiative Committee, which will launch its campaign against Childhood Obesity in serving the children of Prince George's County Maryland. Astril is married to Michael Harewood and they have two beautiful children together. In their spare time, the couple plays for Washington's professional Steelband DC Panjammers.
When Doris Montgomery spoke to Astril Webb about joining Kiwanis, she merely had to mention "about serving the children of the world and the sponsored youth programs". Astril just said, "Yes, I am interested" and attended the next meeting with Doris. Astril has already started on information to send out to all Capital District members related to Governor Art Riley's project on Childhood Obesity.
