Spotlight
on a Super Kiwanian - Terry Leckie
by Doug Butler
I go on a lot of Inter-Club visits to Kiwanis Clubs in our Division and other Divisions and I notice there is usually one Kiwanian that really stands out as the Super Kiwanian. I found this member, Terry Leckie, on our Inter-Club visit to the Kiwanis Club of Front Royal (VA).
He was the first member of the Club to greet our Inter-Club, told us about the Club's Public Service Projects and takes care of all the financial procedures of the Club, collecting for dinner and running the Club's Administrative Fund Improvement Game. He is a young man that has led the Club on a successful year as President and now with that experience has helped officers and directors coming on. All the information I received came from his fellow Kiwanians since Terry only says "he is a Kiwanian interested in his community"
I asked his fellow members to jot down some of the things he was doing for his Kiwanis Club and the list was long ranging from Fund Raising to helping people in the community in the name of Kiwanis. At his suggestion, The Kiwanis Club of Front Royal sponsored our Winchester (VA) Kiwanis Club of Old Town which now has 40 members after only being chartered a year.
I would suggest to my fellow Kiwanians who go on Inter-Club visits, seek out that Super Kiwanian for ideas for your home Club. You will find there is a lot of great things you can do and a lot of people will benefit.

The Growth Team’s much-discussed Grundy CD tells about the spectacular success
this Southwest Virginia Kiwanis Club had with its recent Membership
Night program. But did you know Grundy tried the same thing
two years ago and all but failed. What made the difference
the second time? I answer that
question in my new Monday Morning Message.
