Fun and enthusiasm are clearly evident with the capital District Delegates. Ready for action!
The twenty four flags of the Key Club nations, with a beautiful duet rendition of the United States National Anthem. Stirring, patriotic and sung full of pride and spirit: It makes you feel stirring admiration for these talented Key Clubbers
The “Spirit Stick” was awarded daily to the Key Club district which showed the most enthusiasm, creativity, and which yelled the loudest. Immediate Past Governor Peter Simasek co-hosted the daily award ceremony at each close.
The Pennsylvania District won the first day’s “Spirit Stick” award. You could hear them, alright.
Kiwanis International Trustee Don Sanker (PA) is the Key Club Counselor, with Kiwanis International President Designate Dave Curry, Key Club PG Peter Simasek and Governor Bob Cressy.

Jenna Bush, daughter of President George and First Lady Laura Bush, addresses the delegation on the program to “Kick HIV/AIDS Out Of Kenya” with UNICEF and Key Club International teamed for the project. She spoke of her time in Kenya and the challenges of people with HIV/AIDS. She was charming, persuasive and poised in her presentation.
Happy Faces – Greer Kelly, Nathan Livinka, PG Peter Simasek and Kiwanis Advisor Nicole McDermott.

Kiwanis and Faculty Key Club advisors REALLY enjoy this mentoring role year after year. What a team!

International honor to Capital’s Harrisonburg Virginia High School for its “Outstanding Fundraising Effort to help Kick HIV/AIDS out of Kenya for UNICEF”.
It’s VERY easy to catch the Spirit! Kiwanis Governor Bob has the Capital District sign up. It pays to advertise … and don’t be quiet about it either!
Governor Elect Art Riley and Vickie are ready to go! Keep your horses steady … there’s sixty days to round out this year, then we roll on.
The chief guys in charge: Assistant Administrator Bill Hand and District Administrator Joe Stankus are respected, effective, dedicated and sometimes even listened to by Clubbers as leaders. Naw, just kidding on the last part. Key Club loves them both. They have been a team for years and their service and love for the tasks of taking Capital District Key Club thorough each year is beyond mere words of praise or thanks. We’ll try: Thank YOU, Bill and Joe, for all you do!
Past Governor Monica Price and Governor Sarah Smith – the Kiwanis Family ‘Rolling Leadership’ philosophy provides past officers’ continuing support of the new leadership team.
Capital District Kiwanis Governor Bob Cressy, Key Club Governor Sarah Smith and Governor-Elect Art Riley – enjoying the celebration of the 64th Key Club International Convention at the spectacular Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.
Sometimes a few well chosen words says it all: “I am a better person because of Key Club.” Kiwanians are better people because of our involvement in Key Club, too. Thank you for supporting our “Service Leadership Programs”.
Expressing our ‘thanks’ by occasional awards and recognition for a job well done is important. Division 9 LG Kayla Shipley receives a BIG ‘thank you’ by her peers. Congratulations, Kayla!
Emma Siegfried is proud to be a Charity Walk Winner!
Key Club District Administrator Joe Stankus is festively attired as a leader of the DCON celebration. Of course
Our Capital District Sponsored Leadership Program Administrators and Advisors guide, train and allow our sponsored organizations to flourish. Its also team work and great friendship between them all that leads to so much success and FUN. District Administer Joe Stankus and Brenda Stankus lead the Capital District Key Club team.
We tip our hats to Assistant Administrator Bill Hand and Janet. All of them help organize events, chaperone bus trips, hotel stays and other events such as K-Family Weekend, next in Front Royal September 14-16th. Here, it’s a quiet team dinner.
We have many ‘master photographers’ in our District. (I have stories.) Here, Advisor Tom Wagstaff takes a picture of Advisor Janet Hand taking a picture of Bill. I’ve seen stranger things.
Judy and Bill Murray are always on the job most often behind the scenes. Judy IS the ace photographers and computer wiz putting together many great Key Club video presentations.
