CKI Members: Willing and Ready to Help!
by Samantha Staebell, CDCKI Editor

CKI Members are just like any other member of the Kiwanis family, except of course, we are crazy college students! But, you would be surprised to know that we are not as different as you think. We all love to complete service, work with kids, and even work on a few fundraisers. A good relationship with your CKI club can be beneficial for all parties involved.

If you are having trouble contacting your CKI club, email them! Most schools require you to check your email at least once a day, so that may be one of the easiest ways to reach your CKI club president. If email does not work, make sure you have their cell phone number, college students never go anywhere without their cell phones! Once you contact your CKI club, discuss the ways both of your clubs can work together through out the year.

Does your Kiwanis club have problems getting people to volunteer for events? Ask your CKI club to help you! We love participating in Adopt-a-Highway projects, early morning Food bank trips, and even checking coats at one of your fundraisers. Your clubs support us so much through out the year, let us support Kiwanis as much as we can. Encourage your CKI club to put you on their email list and invite them to their projects through out the year. Try to send a representative from your club to these projects to help strengthen the Kiwanis Family relationship. Make sure CKI members know about your events in the same way.

One of the purposes of the Kiwanis Family is to create fellowship between the branches and complete service together. CKI clubs are more than willing to help in whatever way they can. We may not be able to bring the financial support, but we can surely bring the manpower, all you have to do is ask!
