CKI Members: Willing and Ready to Help!
by Samantha Staebell, CDCKI Editor

CKI Members are just like any other member of the Kiwanis family, except of course, we are crazy college students! But, you would be surprised to know that we are not as different as you think. We all love to complete service, work with kids, and even work on a few fundraisers. A good relationship with your CKI club can be beneficial for all parties involved. more

Though Too Young to Give, Daniel Morgan Builders Club Sponsors Blood Drive
by Bill Jeunette

On march 6th the Builders Club at Daniel Morgan Middle School in Winchester, VA held a very successful blood drive in conjunction with the red cross. This may sound odd as none of the Guilders are eligible to give blood due to age restrictions, but club members selected this project as they knew the urgent need of the red cross blood program. The club had earlier had a Red Cross coordinator speak at a club meeting. The drive was scheduled after school from 3 to 7 pm and 84 willing donors were able to sign up but due to the long lines some other potential donors had to leave. The clubs acted as escorts and provided other services to the donors. The club had advertized a goal of 55 units as their goal. Of those signing up 67 were accepted and a total of 58 pints of blood were collected. The goal reached and exceeded. The members of the kiwanis club are very proud of our builders club achievements and a special thanks to all the staff at the school for helping out and especially to our teacher sponsor Jenna Arndt.
