Welcome to the 7th Edition of Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory. Maloney's is a massive compilation of over 20,000 resources to assist you in the location, study and authentication, replacement, repair, valuation, or buying and selling of over 3,200 categories, antiques, collectibles and other types of personal property.

Maloney's has become the primary reference tool for private individuals and professionals alike! It is now considered the bible of the antiques & collectibles trade. Sellers and non-collectors can easily find buyers when they want to sell - be it a single item or an entire collection. Collectors can locate clubs or can subscribe to specialty publications to learn more about their areas of interest. Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory is also invaluable to appraisers, attorneys, insurance and moving company claims adjusters, authors and lecturers, estate liquidators, dealers, consignment shops, auctioneers, and others who have a related interest in personal property. And public libraries, too, recognize how important this book is in helping to answer their patrons' innumerable and hard-to-answer questions.

Since its debut, Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory has been hailed as the "...best one-volume research tool in print." (Gannett News Service) and as a Best Reference Book (Library Journal.) This unique and comprehensive all-in-one information source has proven itself as the only complete resource for hard-to-find information about antiques, collectibles, art and other categories of personal property. With 20,000+ resources, Maloney's is now better than ever!!

Harry Rinker, noted author, columnist, lecturer on antiques and collectibles, and former editor of Warman's Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide says,

"David Maloney has created a directory with the answers. The Resource Directory will be a reference source that anyone associated with the field will simply have to own. If I owned only one book in the Antiques & Collectibles field, this would be it! It promises to become a classic!"

Maloney's is a pioneer in gathering and disseminating information about antiques-related resources to the public. Please note that a listing should not be considered an endorsement, and no guarantee of satisfactory service is made. The goal of this database is to place as much information as possible at the user's fingertips to allow him or her to make decisions based on knowledge and fact. Veteran dealers and collectors are well aware that knowledge and information are the keys to success in the world of antiques and collectibles. Unfortunately, such informational resources are minimal in scope, widely scattered and often short-lived or frequently changing. Heretofore there was no organized method to capture, preserve, collate, and distribute collector resource information to efficiently keep the public accurately informed on a continuing basis. Maloney's is designed to overcome this shortfall through frequent updating and regular publication.

My personal experience as an appraiser demonstrates quite dramatically that most of the non-collecting public is unaware of the value of many of their own possessions. Even when people do realize that their collectible items are valuable and/or of interest to others, they are often at a loss as to how to set a price or find a buyer (should they choose to sell) or to locate information to learn more about their collectible.

This directory is an ideal source for locating potential buyers. Individual buyers are listed as are associated clubs and periodicals which are themselves excellent sources of information about potential buyers. Further, new research, repair techniques, theft and fraud alerts, reproductions, and an ever-changing value structure, coupled with the specialized nature of many periodicals makes serial publications and collectors' clubs more important than ever as the primary source of current and topical news in all fields of antiques and collectibles. The periodicals, trade publications and collector clubs/associations listed in Maloney's disseminate a wealth of timely information that is of great importance to the collector and researcher. In addition, the listed auction services (often specializing in a narrow area of collector interest) provide alternatives to selling to an individual.

For appraisers, dealers, estate liquidators, repairers, attorneys, claims adjusters, and other professionals, Maloney's is the unrivaled source of information to aid in the authentication and valuation of antiques and collectibles, or to help with the successful resolution of a loss or damage claim. Experts found among dealers, collectors, clubs and specialized periodicals offer an unparalleled source of expertise to help in confirming bona fide claims or in disproving fraudulent ones.

Of special interest to the moving, claims, and repair industries, Maloney's lists suppliers of such items as replacement crystals for chandeliers, furniture hardware, curved glass, tools, lamp parts, upholstery and caning supplies, clock parts, refinishing supplies and other obscure and hard-to-find items such as bed rail extenders and icebox hardware. The directory lists matching services for silver, crystal, dinnerware ("china"), conservation and repair supply sources, specialized repair services and, through the dealer listings, replacement sources for just about anything antique or collectible. Also listed are computer programs for collectors and sources of supplies for the collector and dealer such as bubble wrap, Mylar sleeves, acid-free storage containers, and display cases.

We are always interested in correcting, updating and adding sources of information and in improving category nomenclature and structure. Please e-mail, call or write with your suggestions for changes. By the way, listings in Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory are FREE or cost or obligation.
